Effie Marie Deevers, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1997, at Ratliff Care Center. She was born Aug. 25, 1905, at New Madrid, daughter of Charles Luther and Mary Elizabeth Clark Wren. She and Alma Deevers were married March 21, 1929, at Jackson. He died in September 1985...

Effie Marie Deevers, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 1997, at Ratliff Care Center.

She was born Aug. 25, 1905, at New Madrid, daughter of Charles Luther and Mary Elizabeth Clark Wren. She and Alma Deevers were married March 21, 1929, at Jackson. He died in September 1985.

Survivors include a sister, Clara Lewis of Henderson, Ark.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Tommy Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.

There is no visitation.
