OLD APPLETON -- Edwin A. Amschler, 90, of Old Appleton, died Friday, Feb. 16, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 18, 1905, at Apple Creek, son of George and Sophia Unterreiner Amschler. He and Rosa J. Winschel were married May 15, 1934, at Apple Creek. She died Jan. 24, 1984.
Amschler had been a small engine repairman. He was a member of Western Catholic Union and Holy Name Society.
Survivors include a son, Herman Amschler of Silver Lake; a daughter, Rosella Fahrner of Fairview Heights, Ill.; five brothers, Gilbert Amschler of Old Appleton, Rudy, Walter and Oscar Amschler of Perryville, Theo Amschler of Oran, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville from 4-9 p.m. Sunday, and Monday from 6:30-9:30 a.m. The parish wake will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, and the rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Monday.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. Terry Borgerding officiating. Burial will be in Apple Creek Church Cemetery.
