PATTON, Mo. -- Edward E. Yancey, 65, of Patton died Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 23, 1945, in Portland, Ore., son of James Brown and Lucille Berry Yancey. He married Lupie Johnson Verby of St. Louis, and then married P.J. Frick Feb. 7, 2007, at Patton.
Yancey was a carpenter with Musick Construction. He was a member of Perryville Elks Lodge 2701. He was of the Protestant belief.
Survivors include his wife, P.J. Yancey of Patton; a son, Mike (Heather) Yancey; a daughter, Michelle (Ron) Dirks; a stepdaughter, Shannon (Kevin) Schaeffer, all of St. Louis; a brother, Bill White of St. Charles, Mo.; a sister, Janet West of Portsmouth, Va.; six grandchildren, Zach and Jamiee Arter, Danielle Dirks, Madison, Samantha and Kasey Yancey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Sydney Yancey.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to service time Sunday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville, Mo.
The funeral and Elks service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Mike Welker officiating. Burial will be in Higdon Cemetery in Madison County.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Missouri Department of Conservation.
