PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Edward C. Stortz, 56, of Perryville died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at his home. He was born Sept. 18, 1944, in Perryville, son of Frederick and Irene Pingel Stortz. PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Edward C. Stortz, 56, of Perryville died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at his home.

He was born Sept. 18, 1944, in Perryville, son of Frederick and Irene Pingel Stortz.

Survivors include five sons, Brad, David, Edward II and Brian Stortz, all of Perryville, Rick Stortz of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Melissa A. Stortz of Perryville, Michelle Layton of Brewer, Mo.; four brothers, Sonny Stortz of Sedgewickville, Mo., Bernard Stortz of Uniontown, Mo., Bill and Ronnie Stortz of Perryville; three sisters, Margie Miller and Dorothy Miller of Perryville, Zita Kramer of St. Mary's, Mo.; and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at Miller Family Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. today, and after 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kevin P. Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
