SCOTT CITY -- Funeral service for Edward L. Roth of Frankenmuth, Mich., was held Sept. 19, 1997, at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church, with the Revs. Mark D. Brandt and Dale C. Ahlschwede officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Cederberg Funeral Home in Frankenmuth was in charge of arrangements.
Roth, 67, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Sept. 16, 1997, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
He was born May 18, 1930, at Illmo (Scott City), son of August J. and Anna VonDissen Roth. He and Arlene Schluckebier were married July 9, 1955.
Roth was a teacher at St. Lorenz Lutheran School from 1954-1990. He was a former Walther League director, Bible class teacher, an athletic coach and director of the Part Time Agency. He was a member of St. Lorenz Church and had served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mary Naples of Frankenmuth; two sons, the Rev. John Roth of California, Paul Roth of Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, James Roth of Scott City, David Roth of Jackson; three sisters, Mabel Schwark and Ruth Fuhrmann of Indiana, Bernice Nebel of St. Louis; and two granddaughters.
