Edward Eugene McDaniel, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at home. He was born Sept. 6, 1924, at Cape Girardeau, son of Orel and Bertha Winkleplecht McDaniel. He and Emma Jane Lewis were married May 11, 1946, at Jackson. McDaniel served in the U.S. Army in World War II. McDaniel was employed by Florsheim Shoe Factory for 34 years. He retired in 1986...

Edward Eugene McDaniel, 79, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at home.

He was born Sept. 6, 1924, at Cape Girardeau, son of Orel and Bertha Winkleplecht McDaniel. He and Emma Jane Lewis were married May 11, 1946, at Jackson.

McDaniel served in the U.S. Army in World War II. McDaniel was employed by Florsheim Shoe Factory for 34 years. He retired in 1986.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenneth G. McDaniel of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Dorlis Jane Ebner of Wolf Point, Mont.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Morris officiating.

Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
