BENTON, Mo. -- Edward Dwight Hutson, 84, of Benton died Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 18, 1932, in rural Blodgett, Missouri, to Everett D. and Jessie Faye Wheeler Hutson. He married Mary "Lou" Benfield on Dec. 7, 1952. She preceded him in death June 28, 1998.
He was a farmer, and he was retired from International Shoe factory. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
Edward is survived by two sons, Steve (Debi) Hutson of Marble Hill, Missouri, and John (Patty) Hutson of Scopus, Missouri; two daughters, Debbie (Larry) Naile of Benton and Terra (David) Slayden of Diehlstadt, Missouri; a brother, Paul Hutson of Benton; two sisters, Margie Sisk of Charleston, Missouri, and Carolyn Hutson of Benton; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild, with two more due in May.
He also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Susan Nannette Hutson; and two brothers, David and Gene Hutson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating. Burial will be in Unity Baptist Cemetery in Benton.
