EDWARD HARGRAVE

ANNA, Ill. -- Edward I. "Jack" Hargrave, 87, of Anna died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

He was born July 21, 1913, in Anna, son of Ed and Ethel Choate Hargrave. He and Velma Johnson were married Dec. 29, 1939, in Cape Girardeau. She died Jan. 4, 1999.

Hargrave retired from the grocery business. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sisters, Bessie Brown of Crystal River, Fla., Aleta Johnson of Weeki Wachee, Fla.; two brothers, Lee Hargrave of Bristol, Tenn., and Bob Hargrave of Holiday, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Dr. David Soucie officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery, with graveside rites by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 of Anna.
