MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Edward T. Gardner, 66, of Marble Hill passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at his home, following a brief illness.

He was born Sept. 13, 1946, in St. Clair, Mo., son of William and Edna Jean Short Gardner. He and Donna Wood were married July 26, 1966.

Gardner retired from Procter and Gamble, where he worked 23 years.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam War veteran.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Edward T. Gardner (Kathy) of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Ranee (Mark) Grindstaff of Marble Hill; four grandchildren, Trey and Shane Gardner, Thomas and Cori Grindstaff.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. The Rev. Don Henson will officiate.

Hutchings Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
