EDSEL EDWARDS

EAST PRAIRIE -- Edsel Wyley Edwards, 68, of East Prairie died Thursday, April 29, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born July 5, 1930, in East Prairie, son of John Wyley and Peggy Prince Edwards Jr. He and Katherine V. Talley were married Nov. 12, 1953.

A lifelong resident of East Prairie, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Eldon Edwards of East Prairie, Steven Edwards of Midwest City, Okla.; a daughter, Joyce Adams of Paducah, Ky.; and his stepmother, Mary Ann Edwards of Advance.

Also surviving is a sister, Mavis Reuspondic of St. Louis; three half sisters, Judy and Alverda Nall of Advance, Jaronda Nall of Scott City; a half brother, Ronnie Pennington of St. Louis; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. David Dowdy will officiate. Burial will be in Anniston Cemetery.
