CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Edna Le Walton, 66, of Chaffee died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 12, 1935, at Benton, Mo., daughter of Capt. Joe B. and Mary Elizabeth Kirby Smith. She and Toledo F. Walton were married July 6, 1960.
Walton was a licensed practical nurse and had worked at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Rockview, Mo., the Missouri Nurses Association and a former member of the Chaffee Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband; her mother, Mary Grimes of Sikeston; two sons, Gerald Walton of Jackson and Kenneth Walton of North Pole, Alaska; a brother, Capt. Joe F. Smith of Dumas, Ark.; a sister, Phyllis J. Zilafro of Sikeston and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and her father.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with the Revs. Nancy Woods and Watis Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Unity Baptist Cemetery in Benton.
