Edna Snead

Edna Miriam Snead, 81, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016.

She was born Jan. 3, 1935, in St. Louis, daughter of Martin and Irene Nelson.

She and Carroll M. Snead were married Sept. 25, 1954, in St. Louis. The couple moved to Cape Girardeau in 1955. They celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2014. He passed away March 4, 2015.

Edna was a member of La Croix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. She and Carroll owned the Handicrafter craft store from 1975 to 1988. Edna was also an avid gardener.

She is survived by her son, Darren (Kelly) Snead of Maplewood, Missouri.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Linda C. Snead.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Private burial will take place at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
