Edna V. Sitzes, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, May 11, 2006, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Oct.15, 1917, in Whitewater, daughter of Omer O. and Ora V. Crump Wampler. She and Wylie Sitzes were married Sept. 1, 1938, in Cape Girardeau. He died Feb. 1, 1979.
Sitzes worked at Davis Electric several years, retiring in 1978. She was a founding member of Bethel Assembly of God Church, and a former Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Sitzes of Kingman, Ariz.; three daughters, Jo Ellen King of Renton, Wash., Nancy Stovall of Cape Girardeau, Garnett Frazer of Chester, Ill.; three brothers, J.E. Wampler of DuQuoin, Ill., Norval Wampler of Jackson, Wayne Wampler of Texas; four sisters, Evelyn Vancil of DuQuoin, Janice McClard, Gloria Proffer and Janene Givens, all of Jackson; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and two sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The funeral will be held at the funeral home Saturday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Christopher Tyler officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
