PERRYVILLE -- Edmund H. "Red" Schuessler, 82, of Perryville, died Tuesday, July 6, 1996, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 10, 1913, son of Rudolph and Martha Lohmann Schuessler. He and Wilma L. Kasten were married May 3, 1941.
Schuessler had been a meat inspector with the federal government, was a former county surveyor, postal worker and farmer. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, VFW Post 4282, American Legion Post 133, and AmVets. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Katherine Renner of Gordonville, Marjorie Kinnison of Perryville; two sisters, Norma Muench and Elda Fritsche of Farrar, and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather and half brother.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. today, and Thursday from 6:30-8:30 a.m. The VFW wake will be at 7 tonight.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Church, with the Rev. Jeffrey Lloyd officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
