SCOTT CITY -- Edith Marie Whitworth, 68, of Scott City died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at her home. She was born Sept. 1, 1931, at Fornfelt, daughter of Herman David and Stella Jane Moore Sturm. She and James Charles Whitworth were married Sept. 18, 1946...

SCOTT CITY -- Edith Marie Whitworth, 68, of Scott City died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at her home.

She was born Sept. 1, 1931, at Fornfelt, daughter of Herman David and Stella Jane Moore Sturm. She and James Charles Whitworth were married Sept. 18, 1946.

Whitworth had been a salesclerk at Cousin Fred's in Cape Girardeau; a waitress at Colonial Restaurant in Cape Girardeau and at Henson's Cafe in Scott City. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Marshall, Jay and Randy Whitworth of Scott City, Rick Whitworth of Chaffee; a daughter, Brenda Bles of Scott City; a brother, Clarence "Doodle" Sturm of Evansville, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 4 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel. The Revs. Terry Eades and Chad Bles, a grandson, will officiate. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
