MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Edith Shipman, 90, of Portland, Ore., died Monday, June 17, 1996, at Foster Care Home in Portland. She was born Jan. 15, 1906, in Powe, Mo., daughter of Sam and Pearl Jones McAllister. She married Andrew Shipman, who died July 11, 1972...

MOUND CITY, Ill. -- Edith Shipman, 90, of Portland, Ore., died Monday, June 17, 1996, at Foster Care Home in Portland.

She was born Jan. 15, 1906, in Powe, Mo., daughter of Sam and Pearl Jones McAllister. She married Andrew Shipman, who died July 11, 1972.

Survivors include four sons, Andrew Shipman of Portland, A.L. Shipman of Houston, Texas, Ray Shipman of Tracy, Calif., Lloyd Shipman of Montgomery; two brothers, Claude McAllister of McClure, Sam McAllister of Villa Ridge; a sister, Mildred Staggs of Melbourne, Fla.; 18 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters and a son.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Concord Cemetery near Olmsted, with the Rev. Clarence Glenn officiating.

Crain Funeral Home in Ullin is in charge of arrangements.
