SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Edith Mae Cooper of Sikeston will be held at 3 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. George Alsup will officiate, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Cooper, 79, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 11, 1916, in Mississippi County, daughter of the Rev. William S. and Cleo Williams Bailey. She and John T. Cooper were married Sept. 3, 1933, at Gravel Hill. He died Nov. 4, 1993.

Cooper had been a cafeteria manager for Brown Shoe Co. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Floyd Cooper of Muncie, Ind., Gary Cooper of Covington, Tenn., Jerry Cooper of Arvada, Colo.; a daughter, Jean Parton of Chanute, Kan.; two sisters, Geneva Voelker of Sikeston, Marie Rapert of Charleston; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, brother and sister.
