CAIRO, Ill. -- Edith E. Kilmartin, 99, of Carlyle, Ill., formerly of Cairo, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese, Ill.
She was born Feb. 4, 1901, in San Gabriel, La., daughter of Felix and Emma Guidry Clouatre. She married Daniel Kilmartin, and he died in 1960.
Kilmartin was a retired telephone operator for Illinois Bell. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cairo, the church Altar Guild and the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty June Sumner of Carlyle and Carol Miller of Jacksonville, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jerome Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Villa Ridge, Ill.
