OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Edith M. Insco Johnson, 90, of St. Charles, Ill., died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at Tower Hill Nursing Home in South Elgin, Ill. She was born Feb. 12, 1915, in Pulaski, Ill., daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Glenzy Modglin. She married William Insco, who died in 1969. She later married Leonard Johnson, who died in 1982...

OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Edith M. Insco Johnson, 90, of St. Charles, Ill., died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at Tower Hill Nursing Home in South Elgin, Ill.

She was born Feb. 12, 1915, in Pulaski, Ill., daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Glenzy Modglin. She married William Insco, who died in 1969. She later married Leonard Johnson, who died in 1982.

Johnson was formerly of Olive Branch and Pulaski, and was an election judge many years. She was a member of Trinity Assembly of God Church in Olive Branch, Eagles Auxiliary and Mooseheart of Carbondale, Ill., VFW Auxiliary in Murphysboro, Alexander County Home Extension, Pulaski Christian Church Ladies Aid, and was a past noble grand in the Rebekah Lodge in Carbondale.

Survivors include a son, William Insco of St. Charles, Ill.; a sister, Minnie Verble of Pulaski; a brother, George Modglin of Ullin, Ill.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joshua McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.
