Edith Blevins
MORLEY, Mo. -- Edith L. Blevins, 93, of Morley died Monday, April 7, 2008, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 14, 1914, in Overton County, Tenn., daughter of Shirley and Virginia Dennis Ledford. Coming from Newtown, Pa., Edith lived in Morley since 1979. She married Thomas E. Blevins July 17, 1944. He preceded her in death May 3, 1978.
Edith was a retired cook in the school cafeteria in Newtown. She was a member of Morley Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Jim (Kathy) Blevins of Chaffee, Mo.; three grandchildren, Tom (Janel) Blevins, Sarah Blevins and Phillip Blevins, all of St. Louis; a great-grandson, Caleb Blevins of St. Louis; and a sister, Carrie Johnson of Kokomo, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Alex Ledford; and two sisters, Verssie Harrison and Vera Blevins.
Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, with the Rev. Rodney Davis officiating. Burial will be in New Morley Cemetery at Morley.
