JACKSON, Mo. -- Edith Kathryn Aufdenberg, 76, of Jackson died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. JACKSON, Mo. -- Edith Kathryn Aufdenberg, 76, of Jackson died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 15, 1924, at Oak Ridge, Mo., daughter of Pearl and Ollie Hawn Miller. She and Harold "Red" Aufdenberg were married April 18, 1954, at Tilsit, Mo.

She was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson and was a previous member of the Concordia Guild.

She worked at the former International Shoe Factory and the Cox Nickel and Dime Store in Jackson. She retired in 1995 after 20 years as a Wal-Mart employee at the Jackson store.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Joyce Neal of Cape Girardeau and Jane Reisenbichler of Jackson; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
