Edison "Curly" Taylor, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at the home of a daughter in Cape Girardeau. He was born March 8, 1919, in Loretta, Tenn., son of James David and Alice Pugh Taylor. He and Myra Haubold were married April 13, 1938, at Lilbourn, Mo. She died Jan. 13, 1996...

Edison "Curly" Taylor, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at the home of a daughter in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 8, 1919, in Loretta, Tenn., son of James David and Alice Pugh Taylor. He and Myra Haubold were married April 13, 1938, at Lilbourn, Mo. She died Jan. 13, 1996.

Taylor grew up in LaForge and Sikeston, Mo., moving to Cape Girardeau in 1963. He had been a self-employed painter.

Survivors include two sons, Bob Taylor of Dexter, Mo., Terry Taylor of Springfield, Ill.; three daughters, Kay Ellis of Elkhart, Ind., Barbara Greaser and Brenda Glueck of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Exia Dolan of Jackson, Vida Eby of Whitewater, Mo., Irene Stringfellow of Chaffee, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons and four brothers.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fairmount Cemetery. The Rev. Casey Taylor will officiate.
