EDGAR VOGEL

PERRYVILLE -- Edgar H. Vogel, 87, of Perryville died Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 18, 1910, at Uniontown, son of John and Martha Hopfer Vogel. He and Alice Mueller were married April 21, 1935.

Vogel was a farmer. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, its Men's Club, Berean Bible Class, and held various church offices.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Shirley Pike of Bloomington, Ill., Irma Sandfort of Columbus, Ind.; three brothers, Milton "Spitz" Vogel of Perryville, Herbert Vogel of Washington, Mo., Pete Vogel of Longmont, Colo.; a sister, Nora Brandes of Uniontown; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, and Monday from 6:30-9:30 a.m.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Church, with the Rev. Craig Otto officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
