FROHNA -- Edgar Arthur Versemann, 87, of Frohna died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 19, 1909, in Perry County, son of Herman and Marie Koenig Versemann. He and Edna Lorenz were married June 7, 1936. She died Jan. 15, 1996.
Versemann had been a road grader with Perry County Road District, and also farmed. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, its Men's Club, and Salem Senior Servants.
Survivors include five daughters, Juanita Haertling of Frohna, Bernice Lohmann, Geraldine Koenig, Shirley Versemann and Karen Schmidt, all of Farrar; three sons, Calvin Versemann of St. Louis, Roger and Darrell Versemann of Farrar; a brother, Wilbert Versemann of New Wells; a sister, Wilma Hadler of Perryville; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville from 4-9 p.m. today, and Saturday from 6:30-8:15 a.m.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Salem Church, with the Rev. Robert Schneider officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
