PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Edgar J. Turlin, 80, of Perryville died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 24, 1924, at Menfro, Mo., son of Henry and Rose Maddock Turlin.
Turlin was a line worker at a poultry factory and a farmer. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Silver Lake, Mo., and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth McElvain of Marble Hill, Mo.; three sons, Larry and Howard Turlin of Elkhart, Ind., Leonard Turlin of Patton, Mo.; a brother, Clarence Turlin of Silver Lake; a sister, Florance Biegler of Perryville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at the Young and Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville from 4 to 8 p.m. today and Monday from 6:30 to 9:15 a.m. There will be a Catholic wake at 7 p.m. today.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with military rites provided by American Legion Post 133.
