CHAFFEE — Edgar Parker of Chaffee, the son of Harold and Lucille Pape Parker, was born July 26, 1942, in Cape Girardeau and departed his life Monday, Jan. 8, 2024, at Chaffee Nursing Center at the age of 81.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in the Vietnam War. Edgar was an employee of Georgia-Pacific for many years, until it closed, and then went on to work for Rose Concrete in Scott City, until his retirement.
Edgar was united in marriage to Norma Davis. She survives of the home in Chaffee.
Besides his wife, survivors include a daughter, Tabatha (Mike) Jones of Chaffee; brother, Terry Parker of Jackson; three sisters, Donna Macke of Granite City, Illinois, Peggy (Roland) Appleton of Bertrand and Libby (Bill) Koch of Kelso; three grandchildren, Caitlin (Shane) Emmons of Cape Girardeau, Lindsy (Brandon) Shawver of Dyersburg, Tennessee, and Brett Keller of Chaffee; three great-grandchildren, Lennon Emmons and Rowan Emmons, both of Cape Girardeau, and Joshua Hicks of Dyersburg; and other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, Edgar was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a daughter, Necole Parker.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Fred Burgard officiating. Entombment, with full military honors, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
