PERRYVILLE -- Edgar "Eddie" O. Sauer, 84, of Perryville died Friday, April 7, 2000, at his residence. He was born Feb. 11, 1916, at Highland, son of Theodore A. and Mary Louise Leible Sauer. He and Leona M. Stark Sauer were married Sept. 28, 1942. Sauer was owner-operator of the Intersection Restaurant from 1946 to 1994. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Lions Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion and held third degree with the Knights of Columbus...

PERRYVILLE -- Edgar "Eddie" O. Sauer, 84, of Perryville died Friday, April 7, 2000, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 11, 1916, at Highland, son of Theodore A. and Mary Louise Leible Sauer. He and Leona M. Stark Sauer were married Sept. 28, 1942.

Sauer was owner-operator of the Intersection Restaurant from 1946 to 1994. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Lions Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion and held third degree with the Knights of Columbus.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis Sauer and David Sauer of Perryville and Darryl Sauer of Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Marilyn Ward of Lakevilla, Ill.; one brother, Robert A. Sauer of Moberly; two half brothers, Norbert Schumer and Leon Schumer of Perryville; four half sisters, Leola Lappe of St. Peters, Dorothy Barry, Rose Hotop and Ann Schnurbusch of Perryville; one stepbrother, Eddie F. Schumer of Perryville; one stepsister, Clara Grus of St. Charles; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, stepfather, a sister, a stepbrother and three stepsisters.

Memorial mass will be at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville is in charge of arrangements.
