Funeral Mass for Edgar A. Kohlfeld of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Milton Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be said at 7.
Kohlfeld, 79, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 9, 1922, at Apple Creek, Mo., son of Carl and Dora Trapp Kohlfeld. He and Celestine Scherer were married Nov. 11, 1967, in Cape Girardeau. She died May 21, 1997.
Kohlfeld formerly owned Al's Midtown. He was a 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and past board member of Cape Senior Center.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Toni Scott of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Wallace Kohlfeld of Murphysboro, Ill., Leo Kohlfeld of Jackson, Mo., Charles Kohlfeld of Bridgeton, Mo.; two sisters, Bernie Bruning of Bridgeton, Theresa Balsmann of Perryville, Mo.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister.
