Edgar Dean Bruns, 64, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 11, 1936, at St. Clair, Mo., son of Edgar Henry Fredrick and Mildred Laura Fisher Bruns. He and Marilyn Joyce Dixon were married Aug. 17, 1957. She preceded him in death.
Bruns established and operated E.D. Bruns Construction Co. in St. Clair from 1976 until retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. Clair Southern Baptist Church, and past member of Easter Lodge 596 AF&AM and St. Clair Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Bruns of Cape Girardeau, Lonnie Bruns of Lees Summit, Mo., Walter Bruns of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; two daughters, Ladonna Hix of St. Clair, Lagina Fitzpatrick of Eldon, Mo.; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant twin brother.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair. The Revs. Richard White and Bill Savage will officiate. Burial will be in Fisher Cemetery at St. Clair.
