Eddie M. Baker, 90, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, April 23, 1991, at Fountainbleau Lodge.
He was born Sept. 2, 1900, at Advance, son of James and Eva Cox Baker. He and the former Marie Bond were married July 31, 1926, at Jackson. She died Feb. 9, 1976.
Baker farmed at Arbor, and then worked at a shoe factory from 1944-63. He was a member and deacon at First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include three sons, James Baker of Greenville, Marion Baker of Cape Girardeau, Billy Baker of Modesto, Calif.; three daughters, Virginia Clifton of Perryville, LaNora Blumer of Marion, Ill., Vicki Lange of Scott City; a brother, Ernest Baker, and a sister, Elma Harmon, both of Cape Girardeau; 20 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be held at the chapel at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Frank Bain will officiate, assisted by Keith McNeely, a grandson. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
