Earnest Loyd Thompson, 77, of 146 S. Frederick Street, died Thursday, April 21, 1994 at St. Francis Medical Center. He was born July 13, 1916 at Sylamore, Ark., son of William P. and Lura Crews Thompson. He had worked as a mechanic for R.B. Potashnick Co. and was later a truck driver with J.S. Alberici Company. Earnest Loyd Thompson, 77, of 146 S. Frederick Street, died Thursday, April 21, 1994 at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born July 13, 1916 at Sylamore, Ark., son of William P. and Lura Crews Thompson.

He had worked as a mechanic for R.B. Potashnick Co. and was later a truck driver with J.S. Alberici Company. He was a member of Teamsters Local 574 in Cape Girardeau.

He is survived by four sons, Richard L., Earnest A., Dustin, and William R. Thompson, all of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Agnes McCain, Malden, Geneva Reynolds, Tamerk, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Lorimier Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-8 p.m.
