JONESBORO, Ill. -- Earl "Shep" Weiss, 94, of Jonesboro died Thursday, Dec. 4, 1997, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

He was born Oct. 6, 1903, at Jonesboro, son of George and Cora B. Dillow Weiss.

He married Emma Jane Settlemoir in East St. Louis. She died Aug. 27, 1989.

He is survived by a special friend, Christine Bost of Jonesboro, and several cousins.

He was a lifelong resident of the Jonesboro area and was employed by Norris and Son Funeral Home for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge for more than 70 years and a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hileman and Parr Funeral Services in Jonesboro. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Jonesboro Cemetery, with the Rev. David Eidson officiating.
