ANNISTON -- Earl Russell Nolen, 79, of Anniston, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
He was born Dec. 13, 1919, at Crosno, son of William and Dura Duty Nolen. He lived in Mississippi County his entire life. He was postmaster at the Anniston Post Office. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Air Forces. He was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include a son, Conley Nolen of Jackson; a daughter, Constance Toney of Perryville; five sisters, Lillian Cowser of Charleston, Bernice Culp of East Prairie, Beatrice Doorack and Ruth Scott, both of St. Louis, and Modest Grider of Benton, Ky.; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with David Pringle officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
