EARL REITZEL

JACKSON -- Earl Reitzel, 77, of Jackson, died Monday, May 10, 1993, in a farm tractor accident.

He was born Oct. 16, 1915, at Jackson, son of William and Sophia Schille Reitzel. He and Olga Schweer were married Oct. 14, 1939.

Reitzel farmed north of Jackson all his life, and from 1953-81 he was also a dairyman. In 1956-57 he was recognized as an outstanding farmer by receiving a Certificate of Merit from Jefferson City for accomplishments in soil conservation.

The Reitzels moved to Jackson from the farm in 1981. He was a lifelong member of Emanuel United Church of Christ, and member of Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carolyn Little of Cape Girardeau, Donna Barham of Montgomery, Ala.; three grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
