CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Earl H. Nobles, 76, of Scott City, Mo., died Monday, May 28, 2001, at his home.
He was born Nov. 15, 1924, at Morehouse, Mo., son of Eddie and Lela Miller Nobles. He had worked as an engineer with Burlington Northern Railway Co. of Memphis, Tenn., until his retirement.
He was married to Dorothy Mae Crump on May 19, 1944. She survives at the home.
He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Chaffee VFW Post 3127. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chaffee.
Survivors include his wife, of Scott City; two sons, David Nobles of Batesville, Ark., and Robert Nobles of Columbus, Miss.; a daughter, Lori Ann Klipfel of Kelso, Mo.; two brothers, Grady Nobles of Senatobia, Miss., and Paul Nobles of Austin, Texas; a sister, LaDon Fennell of Rincon, Ga.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Funeral will begin at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, the Rev. LeRoy Quinn officiating. Burial will follow at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
