Earl G. Nabe, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 20, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital from injuries received in a farm tractor-train accident. He was born Dec. 19, 1919, near Egypt Mills, Mo., son of Gus and Mabel Foeste Nabe. He and Erma Clara Exler were married July 1, 1941, at Benton, Mo. She died Jan. 30, 1997...

Earl G. Nabe, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 20, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital from injuries received in a farm tractor-train accident.

He was born Dec. 19, 1919, near Egypt Mills, Mo., son of Gus and Mabel Foeste Nabe. He and Erma Clara Exler were married July 1, 1941, at Benton, Mo. She died Jan. 30, 1997.

Nabe farmed in the Egypt Mills community all his life. He was a member of VFW Post 3838.

He was a technical sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Star, Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupation Medal-Germany, and two overseas service bars.

Nabe served in the Army Reserves until 1952.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Wadlow of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Eva Huber of Cape Girardeau; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.
