PERRYVILLE -- Earl T. "Smokey" Koenig, 75, of Perryville died Friday at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 6, 1920, in Old Appleton, son of the late Arnold and Agnes Rabold Koenig.
He married Leola "Lee" Kaempfe on Feb. 7, 1948.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Wayne D. Koenig of Perryville; a sister, Evelyn Wesche of St. Louis; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Koenig worked as a painter at Sabreliner Corp., and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, VFW Post 4282 and American Legion Post 133. He was a World War II veteran and served in the Army Air Corps.
Visitation will be from 6:30 a.m. to 11: 30 a.m. today at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Jeffrey Lloyd officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church cemetery.
