Earl Lee Collins, 91, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Nov. 21, 1910, at Portageville, Mo., son of Jeff and Lily M. Williams Collins. He and Clarissia B. Ness were married in 1932 in Sturgis, S.D. She died in 1975.
Collins had been an inspector with the city of Cape Girardeau.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and also served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a son, Richard Collins of Scott City; a daughter, Donavon Snider of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Madge Holmes of St. Louis; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, a son and two grandchildren.
A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in Lorimier Cemetery.
