Earl Buerck

Earl William Buerck, 88, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Saturday, June 23, 1928, in Point Rest, Missouri, to Oscar and Gertrude Hogard Buerck. He and Mary Norma Hoffman were married Nov. 11, 1950, at St. Mary's of the Barrens in Perryville, Missouri.

Earl was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau. He attended Perryville High School.

He was a floor-covering contractor and a volunteer at Southeast Hospital.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Norma (Hoffman) Buerck; a brother, Leon Buerck; four daughters, Vicky (Cliff) Hardt, Becky (Wayne) Daume, Christie (Michael) Morton and Pam (David) Bayer; a son, Randy (Susan) Buerck; 10 grandchildren, Megan (Matt) Carter, Heather (Shane) Douglas, Bryan Daume, Jennifer (Andrew Patterson) Barylski, Eric (Rachael) Daume, Daniel (Chris) Buerck, Timothy (Andrea) Buerck, Carlie (Dylan Backstrom) Morton, Lance Bayer and Beau Bayer; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Bobby Manso officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau.
