PERRYVILLE -- Earl Boswell, 78, of Perryville, formerly of Cahokia, Ill., died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, at his home. He was born Aug. 30, 1921, in Kennett, son of Nick and Ella Goddard Boswell. He and Naomi M. Davis were married. She survives. He was retired from Complete Auto Transit in St. Louis. He was a member of Teamster's Local 604 of St. Louis, American Legion Post 784 of Cahokia. PERRYVILLE -- Earl Boswell, 78, of Perryville, formerly of Cahokia, Ill., died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, at his home.

He was born Aug. 30, 1921, in Kennett, son of Nick and Ella Goddard Boswell.

He and Naomi M. Davis were married. She survives.

He was retired from Complete Auto Transit in St. Louis. He was a member of Teamster's Local 604 of St. Louis, American Legion Post 784 of Cahokia. He was a former member of the Centreville Men's Club.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Other survivors include two sons, Ronald Boswell and Richard Boswell, both of Waterloo, Ill.; three daughters, Virginia Edwards of Cahokia, Carlotta Malady of Kennett and Dixie Lauree Gay of Addison, Penn.; a stepson, Edward O. Hawkins III of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Harold Boswell of Orlando, Fla.; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Thursday at the Braun Colonial Funeral Home in Cahokia.

Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Andy DeWitt. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
