Dylan Lee Abbott, 32, of Sedgewickville, Missouri, passed away Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family, at his home. He was born June 8, 1990, in Cape Girardeau to Harry Lee and Jacqueline "Jackie" Pohlmann Abbott. Dylan Lee Abbott, 32, of Sedgewickville, Missouri, passed away Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family, at his home.

He was born June 8, 1990, in Cape Girardeau to Harry Lee and Jacqueline "Jackie" Pohlmann Abbott. He and Lindsey Mayfield were married Sept. 21, 2013, at Little Whitewater Baptist Church in Patton, Missouri. Two children, Caroline and Carter, were born to their union.

Dylan was a 2008 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. He loved his family, and his children were his world. He never met a stranger and always left an impression on everyone he met. He enjoyed deer and rabbit hunting, playing video games, playing basketball, watching sports, wrestling and true crime shows, and spending time with his family.

Loving survivors include his wife of nine years, Lindsey Abbott, and children, Caroline and Carter of Sedgewickville; mother, Jacqueline Abbott of Oak Ridge; brother, Christian "Chris" (Chelsea) Abbott of Old Appleton; father-in-law, Randy (Jan) Mayfield of Sedgewickville; two brothers-in-law, Michael "Mike" (Alicia) Vandeven of Leopold, Missouri, and Ethan (Amber) Mayfield of Sedgewickville; nieces and nephews, Kensley, Brantley and Journey Abbott and Jocelyn, Hunter and Laramie Vandeven.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Abbott; mother-in-law, Carol Mayfield; grandparents; and a paternal uncle, Terry Abbott.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at Little Whitewater Baptist Church in Patton.

The Rev. Jim Collins will conduct the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at the church. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories near Sedgewickville.

Memorials to the family are appreciated and will be used to assist with the children's education.
