JACKSON, Mo. -- Dwayne Edward Cox, 40, of Jackson, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was born May 30, 1961, in Cape Girardeau, son of Donald E. Sr. and Darlene M. Baudendistel Cox. He married Geannie L. Freels on July 8, 1995, in Cape Girardeau, and she survives...

JACKSON, Mo. -- Dwayne Edward Cox, 40, of Jackson, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born May 30, 1961, in Cape Girardeau, son of Donald E. Sr. and Darlene M. Baudendistel Cox. He married Geannie L. Freels on July 8, 1995, in Cape Girardeau, and she survives.

He was a 1979 graduate of Perryville High School and a truck driver for Beelman Truck Co. in Ste. Genevieve, Mo., for 12 years. He was a member of the Freedom of the Road Riders Local 16 in Cape Girardeau and the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Crosstown, Mo.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Vada, of Cape Girardeau; his mother and stepfather, Robert McLemore, of Jackson; his wife; four sons, Daniel Cox and Kurtis Smith of Jackson, Derek and Dustin Cox of Perryville, Mo.; a brother, Donald E. Cox Jr. of Cape Girardeau; five sisters, Dana Abel and Darla Cox of Jackson, Diane Kohm and Denise Bohnert of Perryville, and Dawn Stewart of Columbia, Tenn.; two stepbrothers; five stepsisters; and one grandmother, Alma Baudendistel of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Friends may call today from 4-8 p.m. at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Lorimier Cemetery.
