DEXTER -- Funeral for Dustin Noah Gaines Christian of Dexter will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. The Revs. David Looney and George Hill will officiate, with burial in Hagy Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Dustin, 7, was found dead Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998, in an abandoned refrigerator near his home.

He was born July 18, 1991, in Poplar Bluff, son of Thomas and Shanna Gaines Christian.

Dustin would have been in first grade this fall at Dexter Public Schools. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Essex.

Survivors include his parents of Dexter; three brothers, Brandon and Christopher Lesley of Springfield, Aaron Christian of Advance; a sister, Candace Christian of Advance; paternal grandfather, Jesse Christian of Dexter; maternal grandparents, John Gaines Sr. of Dexter, Ruby Baehler of Fagus; and maternal great-grandfather, Noah Gaines of Bernie.
