PERRYVILLE -- Dr. Victor L. Lohmann, 87, of Largo, Fla., died Sunday, Oct. 19, 1997.
He was born Oct. 9, 1910, in Canyon, Texas, son of the Rev. A.M. and Hulda Kipping Lohmann. He and Vona King were married in April 1928.
His family moved to Perryville in 1921. He graduated from Perryville High School in 1927, and received a bachelor of science degree from Southeast Missouri State University.
Lohmann taught a year each at Frohna Schools and Puxico High School. He was at Perryville High School from 1933-44, serving as superintendent for six years.
After servingin the U.S. Navy during World War II, he received a master's degree and doctorate degree in psychology from the University of Missouri. He was then in charge of the psychology department at St. Cloud University in Minnesota. He was honored by the university and state of Minnesota for contributions to education. He retired in 1973.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Victoria Lohmann of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a son, King Lohmann of St. Petersburg; a sister, Bernice Meyer of Perryville; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a grandchild.
Private service will be held in Largo.
