Dr. Theodore J. Glenn, 86, of San Antonio passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in San Antonio.

He was born March 31, 1927, in Alto, Texas, to Eugene Roosevelt Glenn and Jessie Mary Hamilton.

After graduating from Alto High School, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy Reserves from May 1945 to December 1946 as a medical corpsman.

After his service he attended Sam Houston State Teachers College. He went on to pursue a medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Upon completion of his internship at St. Paul Hospital, Glenn served in numerous capacities as a family physician and emergency room physician.

Glenn opened his first practice in Texico-Farwell, Texas, on Jan. 14, 1957. He then decided to move to the psychology side of medical practice. Glenn served in many capacities through his certifications and affiliations. He was an FAA-certified flight surgeon, family physician and adult, child and adolescent psychiatrist.

He along with his wife, Anna Marie Bollinger Glenn, served the Cape Girardeau community more than two decades, administering health and healing to many from 1979 to 2002. He maintained his licensure to include Texas, Missouri, New Mexico, Indiana, California, Colorado and Kansas.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna Marie Glenn; a son, Theodore "Ted" Glenn Jr. and wife Gloria; two daughters, Deborah Ann Barcroft, Sandra Kay Glenn and partner Suzanne; a grandson, Christopher Dale Barcroft; a granddaughter, Jennifer Fugate and husband Josh; and two great-grandchildren, Nolan and Finley Fugate.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Ivy Room at Independence Hill Retirement Community in San Antonio. Interment will be in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio at a later date.

Porter Loring Mortuary North in San Antonio is in charge of arrangements.
