Dr. Richard Philip Hernandez, 56, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 5, 2010, in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 3, 1954, in Barranquilla, Colombia, to Robert Cesar and Helen Louise Douglas Hernandez.

Richard received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota.

Survivors include his parents of South Bend, Ind.; a sister, April Hernandez of South Bend; two brothers, Paul Hernandez of El Paso, Texas, and Robert A. Hernandez of California.

A memorial service will be held in mid-August at Episcopal Cathedral of St. James, 117 N. Lafayette Blvd., South Bend.
