Dr. Marshall Arnold, 85, of Henderson, Ky., formerly of Benton, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006, at Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Henderson, where he served as an elder, a teacher for the Men's Bible Class, and clerk of the session 15 years.
Dr. Arnold was president of Henderson Community College from 1964 to 1986.
He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, having served as a member of the amphibious forces during the Normandy invasion and retired as a lieutenant.
He was a member of Henderson Rotary Club and the American Heart Association, and served on the board of Junior Achievement many years.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dorris McKee Arnold; a daughter, Martha Ward of Henderson; two sons, Marshall "Mac" Arnold of Henderson, Russell Arnold of Franklin, Tenn.; a brother, Thomas Arnold of Green Valley, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home in Henderson.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian Church of Henderson, with. Dr. J. Douglas Blair officiating. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery, with full military rites by American Legion Worsham Post 40.
