Dr. Mark Adam Sindecuse, 61, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 20, 2023.
He was the son of Earl Adam Sindecuse Jr. and Dolores Ellen Schmidt Sindecuse. They preceded him in death.
He was the loving husband of Andrea Joia Fraser; treasured brother of Judy Frances Sindecuse and Scott Earl Sindecuse; and cherished uncle of Adam Edward Sindecuse-Hayden and Justin William Sindecuse-Hayden.
Mark attended Hazelwood West High School, received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Washington University, a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Missouri-Columbia Medical School and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Iowa International Writers' Program. He did his residency at St. Mary's and held a board certification in Internal Medicine, specializing in emergency medicine, family medicine and internal medicine. He worked in the St. Luke's Emergency Room for many years before becoming the medical director of American Family Care Urgent Care (formerly Doctors Express Urgent Care) in Cape Girardeau, where he won the National AFC Leadership Award "Provider of the Year" in 2015. He was a talented writer who poured his heart and soul into a novel that will be published posthumously, and won awards for his many published short stories. In his free time, Mark enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing and working out.
Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Hutchens-Stygar Funeral and Cremation Center at 5987 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in St. Charles, Missouri.
Visitation will be from noon until 3 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the funeral home.
Interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 1, at Ste. Philippine Cemetery in St. Charles (meet at Hutchens-Stygar at 10:30 a.m. for processional).
