Dr. Mark Hosler, respected physician and beloved father and grandfather, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020, in his home.
He was born Feb. 1, 1947, in Carrollton, Missouri, and lived throughout Missouri during his early life.
A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Missouri and a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine, he practiced medicine in Cape Girardeau for 32 years. He was well known in the community as extremely generous, a devout man of faith and an avid runner, who still holds age group state records for 5K runs.
He is survived by his children, Matthew (Stephanie) Hosler, Nicole (Matthew) Volkert, Victoria (George) Zackert and Elizabeth (Adam Batz) Hosler; grandchildren, Sylvia Volkert, Elsa Volkert, Camden Hosler and Josephine Hosler; and brother, Stanton Hosler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Pauline Hosler.
The family will hold a private service.
Private burial will take place at Columbia City Cemetery in Columbia, Missouri.
