PALMETTO BAY, Fla. -- After a courageous, two-year battle with sarcoma cancer, beloved obstetrics/gynecology physician Kimberly K. Roos peacefully passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, surrounded and comforted by the adoration and love of her husband, Les; four sons, Jason, Logan, Joshua and Landon; daughters-in-law, granddaughters, sister and mother.

Born and raised in Colorado, Kim was a graduate of the University of Colorado and the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed her residency at the University of Colorado Health Science Center.

She practiced with the Women's Health Group and at Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, Colorado, before accepting a position at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Her excellence as a physician and, more importantly, her compassion and devotion to her patients are best exemplified by the outpouring of appreciation and admiration from her patients that occurred online after her nurse and friend at Saint Francis, Ashley Farrar, posted on Facebook the day of her passing. Many of those expressions, as well as Kim's story, may be viewed at drkimberlyroos.com, a website created by her family in her memory.

These pronouncements of appreciation and admiration truly evidence the impact Kim had on so many lives. That devotion to patients was surpassed only by her love and devotion to her husband and four sons. They are heartbroken, but the memory of her and her extraordinary life will be with them and encourage them for the rest of their lives.

A celebration of her life is scheduled for Aug. 20 at Kim and Les' home in Palmetto Bay, where they moved to be close to their sons and granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers, Kim's family would appreciate donations in her name to Saint Francis Medical Center Foundation, online at www.sfmc.net/foundation/donate/ or by mail to Saint Francis Foundation, 211 Saint Francis Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63703.
